The Santa Anna Incident

On a family vacation to San Antonio, we all went out to the famous restaurant Mi Tierra’s. It’s my mom and dad, aunt and uncle, my two cousins, my grandparents, and myself at this table in the back. This place has authentic Mexican food and is a market too. In the restaurant they have a mariachi band that roams around playing for tips. They walk up to the table and ask if we have any requests, and my grandfather in his most serious voice looks at them and asks, “Could you play the song that Santa Anna played right before he killed everyone in the Alamo?”

So now the mariachi band and everyone else at the table is staring at him in complete shock. One of the guitarists finally says that they don’t know that particular tune.

“Oh. Well alright then. Play ‘Ring of Fire’ and we’ll call it good,” said my grandfather.
